I am 58 years old and "touch wood"...to date have never experienced a hot flash or night sweats. The only problem I have right now, is low bone density, but I am taking action to hopefully rectify this. I will be doing weight bearing exercises and strength training exercises with a personal trainer. I am also including calcium rich foods in my diet, as well as taking natural supplements.

I also go to the gym 4-5 times a week, and as well I have a fairly good diet. I have always kept quite active.

My question is...could I still at this time (58 years of age) develop hot flashes and night sweats and everything else that comes along with menopause or am I one of the lucky ones who breezed through menopause.

Thank you.

I am a middle-age woman entering into sixties in a few more years, however, I am not taking natural hormone replacement therapy and I would like to know what necessary steps that I can take to protect me from colon can, breast cancer, etc. I had a older sister who died in 2007 due to colon cancer which makes me for concern, and I also have breast implants I've had for a few years. What should I do to protect myself. Not to mention that I have a low libido in which I have a hard time having an orgasm.

Sincerely yours,
Gloria G.
